Victory’s Banner Books & Gifts opened in June 2009. We specialize in unique, handcrafted, and fair-trade gifts with a spiritual flavor, and books by spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy and his direct students. We strive to create a space with a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere and we truly appreciate sharing our store with visitors, whether they purchase anything or not. As a form of selfless service, we offer free public meditation classes to promote spiritual development and meditation as a way of life.
We are owned by Victory’s Banner Meditation Society, a not-for-profit spiritual organization dedicated to offering free meditation classes as a community service. Our free meditation programs are inspired by the vision and philosophy of Sri Chinmoy (1931-2007), who devoted his life to serving the highest aspirations of humanity. Sri Chinmoy says, “Meditation is everybody’s birthright. In meditation we establish our oneness with the entire world and our whole being is inundated with peace.”
When a customer comes in and says “What a peaceful space!” or inquires about a meditation class, that’s when we feel that we’re truly successful.
